John Thomlinson
Title:
Associate Professor
Department: Biology
Phone: 310-243-3381
Email: jthomlinson@csudh.edu
Office Location: NSM A-141
Laboratory Location: NSM B-134
Research Interests:
Landscape ecology, bird communities, human-modified ecosystems.
I am mainly interested in the interactions of humans and their
environment. I currently have research projects on bird use of rubber
plantations in southern China and aspects of faunal communities in
restoration projects in Southern California. I am writing up a number of
recent projects in Puerto Rico, including habitat characteristics and
conservation of a tropical land crab, structure of tree and millipede
communities in regenerated forest patches, use of urban forest patches
by birds, exotic tree species in a hurricane-dominated tropical forest,
and some theoretical aspects of community structure in a montane
tropical forest.
